Hair is something Valyn has always had a passion for. While in high school, she went to the School of Technology for Cosmetology, then immediately upon graduation started at Aveda Institute Birmingham. After only working in the salon for two and a half years, she purchased what was formerly ‘Salon Touche’, now known as Studio V. She loves the creativity and freedom that she has in her career, and feels blessed to come to work each day. While not at the salon, you can find Valyn spending time with her two precious boys, Dominic and Greyden. They are her whole world.

Born and raised in Birmingham, Karletta graduated from Aveda Institute Birmingham, where she is happy to say she learned a lot about the industry. She joined our team right away and we have loved her since! She truly enjoys cutting hair and loves how a good hair cut can transform someone’s day from good to great. When not creating her magic, she likes to spend time with her family camping, or watching Netflix.

Growing up moving a total of seven times, Dawn moved to Alabama at the age of twelve, and considers it home. She is an artist! Dawn is the one who creates our chalkboard and window designs throughout the year. We even have some of her work hanging in the salon. Graduating from Aveda Institute Birmingham in 2011, Dawn joined our team a few years later. She enjoys being in a forever changing industry and loves that she gets to grow and change with it. When she’s not at work, you will find her painting, woodworking, or really doing anything crafty. She also enjoys the outdoors and loves to paddle board.

Originally from Oxford, AL,  Amy has been doing hair for fifteen years. She enjoys the challenge in doing hair and loves that no day is the same. Amy loves getting to know her clients on a personal level and making them feel better than they did before they walked through the door. Amy's spare time is spent seeing her babies! You can find her either going to Tuscaloosa to visit her son, Blaine or cheer competitions with her daughter, Reilly.

Originally from South Carolina, Kyla moved to Alabama at the age of 15. She graduated from Aveda Institute Birmingham in 2020 and shortly after joined the Studio V team. Kyla is very big into continued education and loves to perfect her craft any chance she can get. Her favorite part about doing hair is the joy it brings her clients at the end of the service. In Kyla's free time, she enjoys going on walks with her dog, Ollie. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family any chance she can get.
